How Insurance-Covered
Lifestyle Medicine Works
Bring your card to your first visit — we verify your benefits before you're seen, so there are no surprises.
Covered visits with our Staff deeper than a standard 10-minute appointment: labs, lifestyle history, and a real treatment plan.
Visit in person at our Lenexa office, or connect virtually if you're in one of 9 Telehealth states.
Real Lifestyle Medicine Shouldn't Require a Membership
Across Kansas City, most Lifestyle and functional medicine clinics operate on a cash-pay or concierge-membership model — often $150–$300+ a visit, or a monthly fee just to walk in the door. That pricing puts root-cause care out of reach for a lot of people who need it most.
Vitality Lifestyle Medicine is different. Trey Bennett, NP built this practice to bill insurance the same way a standard primary care visit does — Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and most major commercial plans — while still delivering the longer visits, lab-driven insight, and lifestyle-first treatment plans that cash-pay clinics charge a premium for.
You don't have to choose between insurance-based care and good care. Here, you get both.

Accepted Insurance: Frequently Asked Questions
Will my insurance really cover this?
In most cases, yes. Visits with Trey Bennett, NP are billed like a standard office visit under your medical plan — the same way a visit to your primary care provider would be. We verify your specific benefits before your appointment so you know what to expect.
Insurance & Cost
-
Does Vitality accept insurance for telehealth?
Yes! We accept most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Kansas Medicaid. For out-of-state patients, we typically accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plans from other states as well. -
What if I don't have insurance or you are out-of-network?
We offer transparent flat-rate pricing for those without coverage. You can also use HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds for all our services. -
How much will my first visit cost?
If you have in-network insurance, your cost is often just your standard general practitioner copay. Our goal is to maximize your benefits—to minimize your out-of-pocket costs.

What if I don't have Medicare or BlueCross BlueSheild?
We work with most major commercial insurance plans. If we're not in-network with yours, we'll let you know upfront and offer a transparent self-pay rate — no surprise billing.

Is this the same as your Care+ Membership?
No. Care+ is an optional concierge upgrade for patients who want extended access and priority scheduling. Insurance-covered visits are our standard model — no membership needed to be seen.

Do I need a referral?
